Saint Mark Parish Updates
Updated  ~ July 10th, 2020

Tonight, please tune into the Diocesan link - https://richmonddiocese.org/livestream/ or their Facebook live for the Chrism Mass at 6pm. The Bicentennial Anniversary Mass at the Cathedral, along with the ordinations of 1 transitional deacon and 2 priests will also be live-streamed tomorrow, Saturday, July 11, at 10:30am!

This weekend we celebrate the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, along with the Bicentennial Anniversary of our Diocese, with our limited participation Masses. On Saturday, July 11th, at 5:30pm, then on Sunday, July 12th at 8am and 11am. We continue our Virtual Mass at 10am on Facebook Live and then on our YouTube channel. We will also be celebrating the First Communion with our children at 1pm; this will be live-streamed as well.

Reminders for those coming to the Mass at church:
1. Please sign up on the website using one of the links below, on our Facebook page or you can call the parish office to sign up. Now that we are in Phase 3 we just need to know the number of folks coming - to ensure we can accommodate everyone (up to 150 in the church). A mask still needs to be worn as soon as you leave your car for those 10 and older.
2. We screen folks at the door with health questions, sign in update and use of mask. (please have the mask cover both nose and mouth)
3. You will be directed to the usher for social distance seating, starting from front to back.
4. For Communion the usher will direct pews from back to front. You will proceed to Father Anthony's or the Deacon's Communion station with your mask on, receive the Eucharist, move to the right or left 6ft yellow tape marking, remove the mask and consume the Eucharist, place mask back on and maintain social distancing as you return to your pew.
5. The recessional will be usher directed from back to front. Please be patient and maintain social distance throughout to include in the Commons as you exit the church.

Sadly, we want to share with you the passing on to eternal life of two long time parishioners - Betty Wemhoff, a standard at 5:30pm Mass, we will celebrate her life with the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 14th, at 11am. Also, a former long time parishioner - Larry Belcher, another 5:30pm regular and a former member of the choir. We will let everyone know by this email of his funeral arrangements here at St Mark. Please keep the Wemhoff and Belcher family in your prayers! The funeral masses will carry the same guidelines regarding Face mask and social distancing as a weekend Mass.

Daily Mass is in the main church on our normal schedule: Tuesday at 8:30am, Wednesday at 7pm, and Thursday at 8:30am. This might be a good option for those that feel more vulnerable as we have had very small crowds. No sign up required. The same safety procedures for the weekend Mass are in effect, with the use of the mask and social distancing throughout. You will be directed to your seat after signing in. Communion will be directed by the staff ushers along with Dismissal. Dismissal will be directed by the usher from back to front. You will exit through the door you entered the church.

The church will be open for private prayer and devotion this coming week from 9am to 3pm Monday through Thursday. We will have a virtual Rosary today and then on Wednesday and Friday of next week at 3pm.

Now that we are in Phase 3 on Friday, July 10th, as guided by the Diocese, we have developed a checklist for the leader/facilitator of ministry meetings, please contact the Parish Secretary for scheduling and the checklist.

Please remain attentive to the website, our Facebook, Flocknote text and emails for news and updates!

Stay safe and may you have a most blessed - Happy 200th Diocesan anniversary, Deacon Mike
