Parish Finance Council
The primary purpose of the Catholic Church of Saint Mark Finance Council is consultative and it is responsible for assisting the Pastor with the financial concerns of the parish. The Council works in an advisory capacity and assists the Pastor in the preparation of a yearly budget of Parish income and expenditures and in the preparation of the required annual financial report of actual income and expenditures, assist the Parish Council and subcommittees in preparing budgets, and provide parishioners with periodic reports of the financial position of the parish. Finance Council reviews the Parish financial statements on a monthly basis to ensure that the Parish is operating within the confines of the budget. The Council also reviews the Parish’s revenues and makes makes recommendations for increasing revenue to meet Parish goals and priorities. It encourages support of Parish and Archdiocesan stewardship programs.
Council Members are appointed by the pastor and prospective volunteers should be skilled in business and have expertise in management, accounting, banking, or other related fields.
