Teen Formation

2023 ~ 2024 Teen Formation Calendar

  Teen Formation at St Mark is a comprehensive Youth Ministry program that includes religious formation for grades 6 to 12, opportunities for community building through service, spirituality, and social gatherings . It also includes Sacramental preparation for Confirmation. Classes for grades 1-9 will be following a specific topical curriculum. All grades will also be using small groups to encourage youth to participate in discussions about their faith.

We encourage teens who are interested in volunteering to be a catechist to also be registered for the 11th & 12th grade sessions.

 

  Y3S

  Y3S is our youth group, open to grades 6-12. Led by a team of adults and teens, we have monthly gatherings that focus on one or more of our three S aspects (Youth participating in Service, Spirituality and Social) of our teen ministry. Meetings occur monthly on Sunday nights from 6 to 8pm.  

 Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation

  To prepare young people for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, St. Mark has a process in accordance with the norms established by the Diocese of Richmond. Along with Confirmation sessions, candidates  must be registered for and attending religious formation. Sacramental Preparation is intended for those young people entering the 10th, but is also open to 11th and 12th grade if the sacrament has not yet been celebrated. Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School students have the option to participate in our formation sessions, as well as participating in the parish Sacramental preparation only to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
